Smokey Minimalism

I'm going to come right out and say it: I haven't been inspired to create the experimental looks I love lately. I'll still rock an emerald cat eye or magenta lip to work now and then, but my weirder forays in makeup have fallen by the wayside in the past year. And then one fateful day a few weeks ago, I saw a white liquid eyeliner in Ricky's. My mind began to buzz.

My initial vision with this look was more of a mod eye shape, but after adding a single white stripe at the very top of my cheekbone, I liked the subtly sculptural effect. So here is my gentle re-entry into the experimental makeup space. And I'm glad to be back!

Special thanks to Marco De la Cruz for his photographic skills and general awsomeness; you can find him on Instagram at @mxdelacruz.
