My First Video Tutorial, Guys! A "Colorful Neutrals" Everyday Look

You guys, I went for it! I'm extremely nervous to post this, mostly because in editing this I've now listened to my own voice way more than I ever hoped to, but I decided to try making a video tutorial for the first time. Think of this "colorful neutral" look as a more subdued version of my lavendy & navy eye from two weeks ago.

I've loved working on this blog for the past five months (wow, time flies!) but as I say in the video, I realize that there are a lot of techniques I use to apply makeup that can't really be explained in a photo, and let's face it, are probably pretty confusing when typed out. So I'm giving this a shot! Next time I plan to zoom in to show the work on my eyes better; please let me know of any other improvements I can make!
Full disclosure: this is my second attempt at making this video. The first time I was so nervous I was almost shaking and I didn't even do a look I liked because I just wanted to get off camera. I think this one went much better, though.

As I said, so sorry I didn't include the whole face. This was quickly turning into a 30 minute video, which seemed excessve ! Will try to abbreviate next time to show you my concealer & foundation routine too. Here are all the products I used to create this look:

  1. Great video! I think it's pretty good for your first try. It helps that you have great lighting in your apartment - not always the case in NYC heh. I think to make it shorter next time, you could separate the brows portion from the rest of the tutorial. Overall, I like your style and I personally like the chattiness :)

    1. Thank you!! Yes, we got really lucky with the light in our apartment. I'm definitely getting used to editing down for the video format, because I love the ritual & taking my time doing my makeup, but obviously that's not great for a video tutorial. Thanks for watching!
